The Trails & Tales Update
“A beloved child has many names” is the translation of a proverb in Swedish. Given that I consider myself to be a maximalist, I appreciate this expression.
MINECRAFT’S TRAILS More is always better! However, the reason I’m bringing this up now is that the 1.20 Update—formerly known as Minecraft 1.20—has a new name! One that is somewhat more themed and less numerical.
Additionally, that name is Please start the drum roll. Despite the fact that this post’s title says such… However, we still adore the drama. The Trails & Tales Update has one more set of ellipses!
Later this year, the Trails & Tales Update will be available in a Minecraft nearby. It was initially made known to us during Minecraft Live 2022. According to game director Agnes Larsson, this update will prioritize creativity, self-expression, and intrinsic motivation while making Minecraft more immersive than before.
Trails & Tales follows in the footsteps of previous updates like Caves & Cliffs and Update Aquatic, which were all titled after themes. The name is a representation of the adventure that Minecraft takes us on and the individual tales that we all carry with us.
Sometimes that journey takes on a literal form, such as when you ride a camel with your closest friend into the horizon. Sometimes it’s more symbolic, as when you figure out a clever mining system or how to avoid angry mobs.
Upon completion of the adventure, regardless of how you have decided to play Minecraft, you will have a unique story to go along with it. We like listening to your stories, and we hope that Trails & Tales will inspire you to narrate more Minecraft tales to the public!
The 1.20 update is all about expressing oneself, particularly via world-building, narrative, and representation. And the thread that connects everything is your path. The stories, or tales, that are told about the Minecraft worlds are owned by the players. AGNES LARSSON
MINECRAFT’S TRAILS ALL NEW FEATURES
The Trails & Tales features are already available in Java Snapshots and Bedrock betas and previews. Never be afraid to go explore the cherry blossom biome, trim your armor, play mob heads, hang signs, organize your chiseled bookcase, trim your nose for seeds, go on an archeological dig, or construct with bamboo!
Since these features—which are all now available in betas, snapshots, and previews—are still in their early stages, we would like to hear your thoughts. Your input is a crucial component of our procedure.
We use the input we receive after releasing an early version to refine and iterate each feature. After that, we carry out more testing till the platform submission, certification, and release deadlines arrive!
Minecraft 1.20, report any issues you encounter to bugs Minecraftapp.net. See these steps to install previews, betas, and snapshots on the platform of your choice!
